Man-Made Meadow Moment

A poem composed of connected haiku:

Man-Made Meadow Moment

Single ancient tree,
Hill, bench, dandelions, pavement:
Industrial peace,

walkers ignore it;
too busy, exercising,
staring at phone...

Friction deters use:
uphill, pathless, agenda...
obvious hind-sight

unintended "Bug"
creates "Feature" conditions
despite Negligence.

wasting away life
one hour then another
never being Still.

Why am I Still here?
Nothing ties me to this place...
Except inertia

This was a series of haiku that I wrote all in one session. They all fit together and yet each was intended to stand alone.

This was an interesting session for me, in that the words practically flowed out of me in a torrent once I found my starting point (the tree). This has never happened to me with any writing and I didn't quite realize that it was occurring until the end. Hopefully, this will be a turning point in this journey.
