Relaxation May...
Published on: May 25, 2025
May has been a weirdly relaxing month for me. The weather has been extremely nice here since early April: neither too hot nor cold.... neither raining nor too sunny... perfect really.
Instead of spending my time typing away at a keyboard writing blog posts and code snippets while the weather has been so nice, I have chosen to "waste" my time sitting on the back porch chatting with my family and/or smoking the cigars that I've been collecting. I've gotten to observe deer and birds, clouds and lightning, sunbeams and shadows... all playing around us.
So I haven't gotten as much done in May as I would have liked on this website or in my other coding projects. Even still, I did manage to develop a Debt Repayment Simulator during an evening of future planning. I also got a huge start to another coding effort that's been gnawing at the back of my brain for years... even if I haven't gotten it quite ready to be published yet.
The "unproductive" time spent outside has inspired MANY a haiku, and reminded me to catch up on my yard chores. The yard looks better than it has in years, and personally I feel much better after "wasting" all this time than I would have spending it indoors.
All-in-all, maybe it was more productive to do a whole lot of nothing with my free time than it would have been to buckle down and accomplish something "important".
