The red-winged black-bird
Stooped atop the poplar tree
Confidently sways
Too many memories
Moments formed my mind model
Obscured by minutiae
a single moment,
Forcefully taken,
to recenter...
An empty cup? No
Overflowing with raindrops...
Tipping point cometh.
Darkened cloud canvas
Sun-beam dances underneath
Thanks to unseen mirror
Turbulent waters
Preened feathers and fast footwork
Serenity intact
Fog bands obstruct view
Clearings reveal my path
In broken fragments
Mist rolls off the pond
Single column rising up
Flattened from above
Pervasive stillness
Periwinkle sky, ringed with
Pink and purple clouds
Pervasive stillness
kaleidoscopic nature
Rudely interrupted
Different point of view
Thrilled to have a change like this
Though little difference
For motivation
Celebration is in order
Halfway thru this book
His obnoxiousness
Is not a problem for me
That is his own problem
Despite distractions
My job is to retain calm
How else shall I be?
I have a minute
no better time than right now
To write poetry
Corn flies crave swatting
One: not worth the energy
Dozens test my calm
