Service Now to Cherwell Migration

When tasked with migrating from ServiceNow to Cherwell, the team faced a monumental challenge: a hard deadline of just 10 months to complete the transition before the ServiceNow contract expired. The scope of the project was immense, with the new system needing to support over 100,000 users and replicate all functionality provided by ServiceNow. The stakes were high, and failure was not an option. Meeting this deadline required careful planning, precise execution, and continuous stakeholder engagement, all while balancing day-to-day responsibilities.

WebApp - Personal Library

This project is a centralized digital platform designed to document books, authors, reading journals, and quotes. Initially inspired by a need to move beyond a simple spreadsheet, the platform enables seamless book and author management, structured journaling, and organized quote collection. With automated imports, API integrations, and intuitive sharing features, it streamlines management of my personal reading log and enhances my reading experience. Enhancements are still ongoing.

When my wife and I purchased a 100-year-old house for just $12,500 during the 2008 financial crisis, we had no idea what we were in for. The home had been abandoned and left to deteriorate, with a gaping hole in the roof, extensive water damage, broken windows, missing plumbing, and outdated electrical wiring. But we saw potential where others saw a lost cause.

Having been a significant contributor to the Broadband USA Help Desk, I consulted on the implementation of the Farmer and Rancher Call Center (FRCC). I provided direction, recommended policies, and documented procedures. I also worked on the ELMS project at the time and was able to leverage my participation in both projects to serve as a technical liaison effecting improvements to both efforts.

The USDA Broadband USA Help Desk project was a pivotal moment in my career, where I first developed the skills that define my professional journey. As my first job in the industry, it gave me hands-on experience in managing high-pressure IT support and resolving time-sensitive challenges. The volume of calls and urgency taught me how to communicate clearly and provide efficient support under pressure. This project introduced me to incident management and taught me the importance of ITIL best practices. It laid the foundation for future system improvements and marked the start of my IT career, where I realized my potential to drive long-term organizational change.
